We did it!
We met our capital campaign goal of $135,000 in just 3 months, thanks to our dedicated Futures Committee and our amazing donors! This is such an impressive accomplishment and shows the generosity of this wonderful little community.
With the capital campaign funds of $135,000, the $200,000 supplied by KRRC, which is available in large part due to years of dedicated volunteering for Julebyen, and $300,000 supplied by an exceptionally generous anonymous donor, we now have the $635,000 to purchase and close on the campground on November 2!
Huge thank you to all of our individual donors, our partners at KRHCC and SOS, Futures Committee members, KRRC members, and all of you beautiful people who have stepped up and gotten involved with this. Know that this is only the beginning, and there will be many more opportunities for you to get involved.
Our Mission
This organization develops and maintains recreational facilities and opportunities serving the residents of the Knife River area.
The Knife River Recreation Council is a volunteer-led nonprofit. We're not a town council, which means there's no municipal budget backing what we do. Everything you see is made possible through grants, memberships, donations, and the hands-on effort of neighbors who show up because they care about this place. If you've ever searched for agates at the beach, walked the trail, or sat for a lecture at the rec center, you've seen that work firsthand.

KRRC Monthly Meetings
KRRC meetings are held every third Thursday of the month at 7pm at the Rec Center. All meetings are open to members of the KRRC. Become a member today!

This place runs on community
Knife River's trails, beach, and programs don't maintain themselves and there's no city budget backing them up. It's memberships, donations, and neighbors showing up that keep this place going. Whether you want to become a member, make a donation, or simply get more involved, you're investing in something real. The kind of place where kids grow up with room to roam and everyone has somewhere to gather. We can't do this without you!
