Where the river runs and community gathers

Our Mission

This organization develops and maintains recreational facilities and opportunities serving the residents of the Knife River area.

The Knife River Recreation Council is a volunteer-led nonprofit. We're not a town council, which means there's no municipal budget backing what we do. Everything you see is made possible through grants, memberships, donations, and the hands-on effort of neighbors who show up because they care about this place. If you've ever skated the rink, walked the trail, or kicked a ball on the field, you've seen that work firsthand.

This place runs on community

Knife River's trails, beach, and programs don't maintain themselves and there's no city budget backing them up. It's memberships, donations, and neighbors showing up that keep this place going. Whether you want to become a member, make a donation, or simply get more involved, you're investing in something real. The kind of place where kids grow up with room to roam and everyone has somewhere to gather. We can't do this without you!
