Knife River Hiking Trail
Up for a hike? Knife River HIking Trail - The KRRC maintains a 2.7 mile public hiking trail along the upper Knife River. The trailheads are located at the end of Shilhon Road and a mile up the Hawk HIll Road. The trail currently is a one way trail through old growth pine and cedar with wonderful views and access to the upper Knife River. The trail is for foot travel only and accesses adjacent county public land. Watch this site for more trail developments coming soon.
Lake Superior Beach Access
The Recreation Council maintains access to a wonderful pebbled beach on Lake Superior next to the Knife River Marina. Access is off of Marina Road and parking is available adjacent to the beach. Come down for a picnic, skip rocks, hunt for agates, or simply take a walk down the beach. There are no life guards on duty and the water is usually quite cool. Swimming is at your own risk. No overnight camping.
