Volunteer
The KRRC is entirely volunteer-led, and there's no shortage of ways to get involved. Whether you want to get outside and work with your hands or bring a fresh idea to the table, we'd love to have you.
Trails and Beach subcommittee: Help the KRRC remain good stewards of the land and water by keeping Knife River's most-loved outdoor spaces healthy, clean, and safe for all.
Julebyen subcommittee: Join the fun of planning and running our biggest event of the year. Or just sign up to volunteer at the 2026 Julebyen (Dec 5 & 6)
Events volunteer: We are always looking for helping hands at community events and celebrations, such as our 4th of July picnic and other Neighborhood picnics and gatherings.
Futures subcommittee: If you're interested in helping more with the campground land purchase, the community will have the chance to be a part of brainstorming and planning sessions.
Recreation programming: We’re looking for people passionate about building community programming. That would be teaching a fitness class or starting a weekly game night. Help build the community you’re looking for.
Become a Member
Membership is the simplest way to put your name behind what this community stands for. As a member, you get voting rights in KRRC elections, a reduced rate on Recreation Building rentals, and the knowledge that you're directly supporting the spaces and programs people and visitors of Knife River enjoy.
Annual Membership Fees*
Individual — $15
Family — $25

Make an impact
Not everyone has time to volunteer, and that's okay. A financial contribution goes directly toward maintaining facilities, funding programs, and keeping this community thriving. With no city budget to fall back on, every dollar makes a real difference. Donations to the KRRC are tax-deductible, and no amount is too small.
