Is Functional Yoga for you? You might especially benefit if you:

  • Want to function and move better on & off of the mat

  • Are looking to improve your mobility, strength, flexibility, and balance

  • Already participate in physical activities

  • Can move between standing, sitting, and lying on the floor.

What to expect in class:
Nancy's classes are intentional but responsive. She comes prepared with a lesson plan each week, but tailors the class in real time to the people who show up. After 22 years of teaching, from beginners to advanced students to fellow teachers, she knows how to meet you where you are.

Each Functional Yoga class focuses on:

  • Classic yoga poses for strength, flexibility & stability/balance

  • Breath work for relaxation (regulation of the nervous system)

  • Somatic exercises for decreased stiffness, soreness & pain, while increasing mobility of joints and muscles

  • Awareness and meditation practices

  • Basic anatomy

  • Building community and having fun

What to bring:

  • Comfortable, layered clothing

  • 1 large bath towel

  • 1 blanket

  • 1 yoga block (or a large, thick book)

  • A yoga mat

Please arrive 10 minutes early to register and get set up.
